The European city currently runs the risk of becoming a discontinued model. The changing processes that were originally only visible in metropolitan settings are now also clearly recognizable in the historic city centers of the old continent. These multiple aspects of change form the central theme for the current exhibition. They will be represented in a varied repertoire of artistic expressions combining the cooperation of artists, architects, urban planners, photographers and designers, and in addition allow the visitors the spatial experience of these changes. In the same measure as the city undergoes aspects of change, the exhibition will also engage in a permanent dialogue with the processes of communication and production.

6 Cities as Protagonists – Graz itself features as protagonist for this exhibition as well as other comparable European cities such as Basel, Kracow, Ruhrstadt, Trieste and Ljubljana.

6 Concepts as Clues for Interpretation – In the two large spaces of the Kunsthaus Graz the visitor can expect a loosely arranged topographic structure with 6 large thematic corner stones: Urban sprawl, shopping, nature and landscape, migration, no-visions and mapping.
