BLANK

Each city contains blank spaces. Especially transit zones such as bridges, corridors, underpasses or passages produce voids within the urban structure. In his unfinished posthumous text fragments ”Passagen-Werk“, the philosopher Walter Benjamin developed the comparison between passage and dream. It seems as if the cities’ architectural subconsciousness manifested itself in these multishaped, urban spaces. The exhibition BLANK discusses nightmare/dreamlike manifestations of these ”non-spaces“. Around fifteen works from video to photography and installation are exhibited.
