“Beyond the Metaphysics of the West” is the title of the 8th issue of the Berlin-born global street newspaper Arts of the Working Class. The issue looks at European colonialism as religious assimilation and the perception of its mechanisms according to specific, geographic foregrounds. A multilingual street paper for poverty, wealth, and art: Arts of the Working Class is published every two months and contains contributions by artists and thinkers from various fields and countries. Its terms are based upon the working class, meaning everyone, and it reports everything that belongs to everyone. Everyone who sells this journal earns money directly. Sellers on the streets keep the entire revenues for themselves. Every artist whose work is featured designs its substance.

Hotels are the comfort zone of imperialist politics and the refuge of their failures. With this Launch Matinée & Menu de Cartes at Hotel Weitzer, the publishers evoke the boundaries between demonization and the fascination of the stranger. While this issue develops new rules of the game between cultures, art, and society, card games and canapés will be offered at Das Weitzer to remix the still-valid polarizing division between East and West.

Arts of the Working Class is published by Paul Sochacki, María Inés Plaza Lazo, and Alina Kolar. It appears for the streets of the world.
