Miss Ambra, the young director of a dated grand hotel, obviously has a serious addiction: work. And she has put her whole heart into it. While she is willing to make any sacrifice for the success of the hotel, her obsessive meticulousness and ambition set her colleagues against her. Until, one day, her obsession with work gets Miss Ambra caught up in a series of sudden, unforeseeable crimes.

The film-makers Zapruder are masters of a theatrical cinema hand made down to the last detail. The inventive 3D technology with which they shoot their extremely elaborate jet low-budget films expands the screen into the auditorium. The situation of the projection room is always incorporated in the conception, its history of visual arts and theatre is always tangible.

With catholic symbolism yet is, at the same time, profound and humorous and of analytical perspicuity, ”Chiavi in Mano” consists of two stand-alone but complementary films that take a look at a world in which work subordinates everything else. The fish is the symbol of the project, as an example of a creature that eats its rival swimmers if they are smaller.

While the stereoscopic film ”All Inclusive” follows a mysterious, but straightforward storyline, the audio-visual setting of ”Joule” is an essayistic counterpart, a reflection into the realm of the abstract, theoretical and associative. Both films share the rhythm, the time, the place – and yet they do not explain each other; rather they speculate with each other by interpreting the complex, contradictory relationship between work, gift and sacrifice in very different ways. ”Joule” (the name of the physical measure of work) causes ”All Inclusive” to explode symptomatically and symbolically – inspired by the same drive with which a child breaks a clock in order to understand how time works.
