The Gesäuse nature reserve is regarded as a paradise for climbers and a greenbelt recreation area in Styria. The massif is the source of many oral legends and tales of dropouts, political refugees, poachers and first ascents – the subject of this project. The Haindlkar-Hütte (mountain hut) plays a key role in this context.

The acoustic programme will be based on stories from the Gesäuse, e.g. about the poacher Peter and ”Peter’s footpath”, which listeners will only be able to hear at a specially developed ”acoustic sculpture”, a kind of ”jukebox for mountain thrillers” outside the Haindlkar-Hütte.
